A
Loving Tribute to Aunt Buddy
Her love sparkles like the North Star
Lighting up my heart from afar,
So softly she whispers my name
The lilting voice of a Grand Dame.
She takes my hands and smiles fine
A graceful beauty in her time,
Each line sketched upon her face
Tells a story of loving grace.
The love she holds within her heart
She hands to me before we start,
The conversation of times past
The times she danced, the times she laughed.
Hours pass, time seems so still
Her eyes begin to close at will,
I know that I must say goodnight
But I don’t want to leave her sight.
She asked me if I’d tuck her in
But first I brush her hair so thin,
A little hug, a gentle kiss
I know these moments I will miss.
